When Pillitteri Estates winery opened in 1993 it was a dream come true for owner Gary Pilletteri who had moved to Niagara in Canada from his native Sicily at the tender age of 12. Gary comes from a long line of Sicilian winemakers, so it was only natural that he would one day make his own wines in this stunning corner of the world. Today three generations of the family are involved in the day-to-day running of the estate which has 100 acres of vineyards planted with both hardy hybrid varieties and classic cool climate grapes like Riesling and Gewurztraminer.
This elegant white blend showcases the beauty of the Niagara terroir where the warm summer days are enough to fully ripen these white grape varieties while preserving plenty of aromatics and varietal character.
Lychees, rose petals, grapefruit and zingy lime dominate on the nose while the first sip reveals a bright streak of acidity, light body, and a pure, clean finish with hints of honeysuckle and citrus. The graceful flavour profile makes this a great match for fresh seafood, sushi, or spicy Asian dishes like aromatic Thai curries. It’s also ideal to serve as an aperitif thanks to the mouthwatering freshness.
