Gamay
Pronunciation: Ga-may.
Gamay equals Beaujolais, Beaujolais equals Gamay. The two have not been separated since birth. Recent history has seen a flood of thin, weedy wines come out of Beaujolais, which does Gamay no credit. At its best can be purple-hued, black-cherry-filled and chocolate-laced with no pretensions other than just to be a lovely mouthful of wine.
