Tasting notes: This vintage Rose, from one of England’s leading and pioneering sparkling wine producers, is a beautiful rose pink in colour, and wafts heady scents of red cherries and the ripest of raspberries, with just a hint of rose petals. You can smell and taste the pedigree in this wine. It’s open, opulent, generous, and complex, showing lovely touches of maturity and depth. With a stream of tiny bubbles, the flavours burst out, packed with a medley of summer berries – freshly crushed raspberries and the sweetest of strawberries, but with a creamy, elegant depth, and a toasty, buttery edge. Think about the very best sourdough toast, with lashings of Normandy butter, and a generous dollop of artisan strawberry jam – that almost sums up the heady indulgence of this wine, but streaked with a lovely whack of citrussy acidity. Gorgeous, and perfect for the summer with strawberries, but also seared tuna and barbecued salmon steaks.
