Country: Chile Region: Limari Valley Grape variety: Chardonnay Vintage: 2007 Bottle size: 75cl Closure: Cork
Situated in the desert land of the Limari Valley, which was once part of the Inca Empire, the word ‘Maycas’ means ‘a block of land’ in Quechua, the ancient Inca language. The Incas based their calendar on the sun god ‘Inti’ and on each of the wine labels a calendar depicting the number of days between harvest and bottling for the variety is displayed. Each turquoise dot (or junka) represents a 10 day week. Tasting Note: Stony mineral aromas, notes of lime and pear, intertwine with a well-defined structure and crisp acidity. Great balance with wonderful vitality and a long appealing finish. Food Pairing: Shellfish, White Fish, Soft Cheese
