Valpolicella is the basic level of wine from the region and one of the most difficult to find a quality example on the market as most producers put all their efforts in their Amarone and the worst grapes end up in the Valpolicella. Luckily this winery believes in making quality Valpolicella and it really shows in the end product. “Volpare” in Italian is the area where foxes go to hide.

"A top example of the lighter styled Valpolicella. Really lively floral and cherry nose. On the palate it is wonderfully light and velvety, with bright fruit and great acidity. (The secret to this is that they use small percentage of Passito (dried) grapes, just under 10%, for concentration that makes it a cut above). Simply the best wine with a proper pizza, and as a change from Pinot Noir try this with white meats too." Tom Harrow
