Wine CASTELL D'ENCUS - Le Thalarn wine is a single variety Syrah / Shiraz produced from vines planted in 2003 in the area that lends its name to the wine. Warm, dry weather ensured a really healthy grape harvest. The high altitude of the vineyards on limestone soils are between 850 to 1,000 metres above sea level. The temperature difference between day and night allows this wine to hold onto its freshness even for slightly more ripe vintages like this one. Still marked by some primary flavours, this wine is so exuberant with plenty of fruit and not influenced but the wood, despite being aged in new barrels for 12 months followed by another three months in tanks. This Thalarn is juicy and expressive with flavours of ripe berries and hints of woodland. A great bottle that's full of charm and personality!
