This is a rather cheeky and appealing wine, not far off from an excellent example further north on the east side of France, where incidentally the people are so friendly. This gem comes from the Vin de Pays d'Oc and it attempts and manages to push way above its weight. The colour a little darker than something from the Côte d'Or but everything that defines it as a Pinot Noir comes through and true. Attractive morello cherry flavours explode across the palate and layer it comfortably and it is a model of perfect balance.
