This was a must-buy on an excellent visit to Portugal, a region that's building a really great reputation amongst the wine drinkers in the UK. Portuguese wine sits nicely on its own level of price-to-quality ratio, not always the cheapest wine, but spend a little bit more and get a lot more for it. Touriga Nacional is more often known for its role in port but, when handled delicately both in the vineyard and winery, it produces very elegant wines without losing depth of flavour. Mar Mistura demonstrates all of that in abundance, with attractive floral aromatics, a bright and refreshing acidity and excellent depth and length on a long finish.
