Tasting note Produced from 50-year-old plus vines, Clos des Allées opens with a splendid array of aromas, predominantly citrus, mandarin, lime, tangerine and orange blossom. The wine spends nine months on the lees before bottling, giving weight on the palate to complement the flavours which mirror those on the nose. It is fresh, interesting and has excellent balance. Food pairing note This elegant Muscadet is a great match for shellfish, oysters in particular. Country: France Region: Muscadet Grape variety: Melon de Bourgogne Vintage: 2008 Bottle size: 75cl Closure: Cork
Luneau-Papin is headed up by Pierre Luneau, who is continuing the family tradition from the 17th Century. As one of the leading producers of Muscadet, Pierre studied with the renowned Emile Peynaud and Ribereau-Gayon of the Faculty of Oenology at the University of Bordeaux. He now creates superb wines from the estate’s 40 hectares, and is also at the forefront of a movement to make Grand Cru Muscadet. Terroir
