Bodegas Tarón Rioja Reserva is a seriously classy, slow-crafted Rioja Alta Reserva, layering ripe red fruit, spice and savoury complexity over a spine of cool-climate freshness. TasteThis Reserva is built mainly on Tempranillo with a touch of Mazuelo, aged around 24 months in American oak and then at least 3 years in bottle before release, which brings real depth and polish. In the glass it shows a ruby hue with garnet highlights, offering lifted notes of violets and cherries on the nose. The palate is silky and refined, with flavours of red cherry, redcurrant and citrus peel wrapped in cinnamon, balsamic, toasted oak and a gentle savoury warmth. Naturally fresh acidity from the northern Rioja Alta vineyards and fine, soft tannins give structure, length and excellent ageing potential.
