Tasting note Yamazaki 12 Year Old, bottled at an ABV of 43%, contrasts a nose of cedar wood, honey, cloves and candied orange peel with a palate of spiced wood, cranberries, orange marmalade and honey. A sweet, woody finish completes this delicate and elegant single malt. Country: Japan Style: Single Malt Age: 12 Year Old Bottle size: 70cl
The history of Yamazaki began in 1923 with the pioneering Shinjiro Torii, who sought to create the first-ever Japanese distillery. He searched for a subtle, humid climate with a good source of clear water and eventually found the vale of Yamazaki, southwest of Kyoto, above the meeting place of three rivers. The distillery now houses 12 pot stills of various shapes to produce spirits of different weights and flavours expressed in flowery, fruity aromas with sweet finishes. Regrettably, this product is non-returnable and non-exportable.
