Great whites leap from the vines of the old Coastal Region, however reds of equal calibre are rarer - yet this is just the ticket. JD Rossouw tells us he had been tinkering with a possible Wildeberg Franschhoek red for 2 years before this wine came into fruition. It is crafted from predominantly Syrah, judiciously blended with a little Cabernet Franc. The nose is of fresh crushed raspberries veiled with white and black pepper, hypnotic and sensual. The palate has breadth, lift and natural juiciness which is complemented by cranberry and peppercorn flavours.
