A new acquisition by proprietor Jonathan Maltus, who sold Grand Destieu in order to upgrade to this terroir, this 10-acre vineyard is planted with 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc. It is situated near several of the premier grand cru classes of St.-Emilion, including both Beausejours and Angelus. Robert M. Parker, Jr.
"The debut vintage under Jonathan Maltus, the 2008 offers sweet black cherry, black currant, licorice and graphite characteristics in a layered, deep wine. Building incrementally on the palate, it exhibits impressive purity, richness and length. Acids are there, but the wine is forward, supple and ideal for drinking now and over the next 10-12 years." 92 pts, Robert M. Parker, Jr. (May 2011)
