You'd be forgiven for thinking that Châteauneuf only produced red wines, seen as they take up most of the spotlight. However, it is a region that also produces whites that can be truly captivating in character and wonderfully complex. Not all producers have enough white vines to make a white cuvée. Thankfully the Gonnet estate has, and this is a lively equally split blend of Clairette and Roussanne. A wine with great fruit concentration and a welcome if slightly surprising freshness. There's a little spice and richer honey notes on palate and the finish is long, balanced and persistent.
