Care to join us on the journeyThis eclectic case starts with a sparkling bottle of Cremant dAlsace, made by the boutique domaine Bruno Sorg from a blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, the nose is complex, toasty with a hint of citrus and apples. The mousse is rich, with the palate fresh and fruity with a long rich finish.Next, our juicy and aromatic Avesso Vinho Verde. An indigenous single varietal from the Vinho Verde region of Portugal made by Anselmo Mendes who is one of Portugals top white wine makers, a white with aromatic notes of apricot, tangerine and lemon that simply burst from the glass, it is wonderful with seafood and smoked salmon. Now for a sip of our Rheinhessen Riesling, grown on the rich patchwork soil of the Rheinterrasse, where rich red soils mingle with sandstone and chalk to produce a unique terroir. Crisp and refreshing with ripe apricot and mineral notes, this is a dry and versatile white that pairs beautifully with seafood and white meats.Next, our Swartland Chenin Blanc, produced by Delaire Graff, an estate situated on the crest of the panoramic Helshoogte Mountain Pass, it is rich in citric fruit, honey and almond notes with a resplendent finish, pair it with both Asian and European food, or a spoonful of Truffle & Honey Stilton. Now, a wine from a tiny family domaine called Fayolle Fils & Fille which was established in 1870. Our Crozes Hermitage is silky, elegant and beautifully balanced, marked by expressive black fruit, white pepper and dark gamey notes of leather – its perfect with all red meats.And finally, Valtellina, sourced from Valtellina Superiore, Sandro Fays steep south facing Ca Morei vineyard at 550m altitude in the Valgella DOCG in northern Italy. Enjoy the notes of cherry, roses, liquorice and dried red and black fruit, with hints of earth and tobacco. It pairs wonderfully with red meat, game, cheese, porcini mushrooms and charcuterie meats like bresaola and salami.Contains six bottles.
