Tasting note Made exclusively from Touriga Nacional, this wine is complex, savoury and rustic. Flavours of cassis, violets and spice, as well as more aged leather and meaty notes are evident in the mouth. The structure is clear and like good cheese the age of this wine has made it, just that bit more appealing. Delectable when paired with meat, game and cheese. In 1942, Fernando van Zeller Guedes and partners, founded the Sociedade Comercial dos Grandes Vinhos de Mesa de Portugal (now known as SOGRAPE Vinhos S.A.). Sogrape’s ambition was for Portuguese wines to be known all over the world. Quinta dos Carvalhais, is part of their portfolio and an estate that spearheaded Dão’s renaissance. Today it is recognised as a specialist brand, with a range of premium wines and an individual style that reflects the region’s elegance and diversity. Regrettably, this product is non-returnable and non-exportable.
