A lovely producer from the Dão in central northern Portugal, with pine tree and eucalyptus ringed vineyards planted on the granitic hills of the region.
Correio means "post" and the vineyard originally belonged to the village postman who used to make wines and hand them out in demi-johns to those coming to collect or drop off packages and letters. A service you wish Royal Mail would adopt!
A perfectly clear dark ruby colour, brilliant, with an intense fruit bouquet, with wild berries and pine needle notes. On the palate it is very subtle with soft tannins and a nice finish.
