The Port of Leith Distillery in Edinburgh are in the process of laying down whisky and they want to make sure they are working with great producers when they are sourcing their wine barrels.
Their port pipes come from Martha's Family Estate in the Baixo Corgo area of the Duoro Valley. After fortification, this reserve tawny port is aged for between 6 and 8 years in oak casks.
The port has a classic fruity character with nutty undertones.
