Tasting Note: In the glass the 1986 has a stunning deep yellow-gold colour. The nose, while taking some time to open up, is well developed and fruitful. The palate is light on entry but builds well to a relatively powerful finish with developed apples, pears and a zest of a lemon. Food Pairing: Foie gras and mango soufflé Details Country: France Region: Anjou, Loire Grape variety: Chenin Blanc Vintage: 1986 Bottle size: 73cl Regrettably, this product is non-exportable The winery was founded in 1787 and is now managed by Jean-Marie Touchais. His father Joseph pioneered the idea of ageing the Chenin Blanc sweet wines for at least 10 years before release. This assured that they were more approachable and in demand. Only 35ha of the winery's vineyards goes into making the Coteaux du Layon and the very best into the Moulin Touchais wines.
