There was a phylloxera outbreak in the King Valley in Victoria's High Country as recently as 1995, and it was thought the wine industry there might not survive. But a few dedicated winemakers dug in deep and stayed loyal to 'The King'. They have since gone on to make some of Australia's greatest wines. In 2015 our old friend Bill Calabria harvested grapes from several outstanding King Valley vineyards to make this remarkable Pinot Grigio. It's a fine tribute to one of Australia's most resilient and picturesque wine regions, boasting vineyards at up to 800 metres high. The wine's fresh green apple, ripe pear and savoury characters are lifted by King Valley's typical cool climate elegance. Enjoy with a seafood platter or spicy Asian dishes.
