Lingua Franca is a young American winery located in the Willamette Valley in Oregon in the beautiful Eola-Amity Hills area. The company, founded in 2012 and now part of the Constellation group, produces high-quality wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which in this American state manage to obtain great results.
The Pinot Noir grapes are selected and hand-picked from some of the estate's best sites planted with the PN777 clone on Gelderman-Jory soils, and from two other blocks planted with the PN115 clone. Fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in medium-sized concrete and stainless steel tanks. The finished wine ages for 12 months in French barriques and 4 in tanks, before being released on the market.
The Estate Pinot Noir is a fragrant and lively wine with a fresh aromatic profile and notes of raspberry and cherry, pomegranate, and rose petals. On the palate, it is juicy and soft. It has a medium body, velvety tannins, a strong mineral vein, and some savory notes. The finish is long and fruity. It makes an excellent pair with cheeseburgers, Teriyaki pork, veal chops, and pasta with ragù.
