Sat around the large tasting table in Finca Manzanos HQ, winemaker Borja explained how his passion project at the moment is Navarra. Often overshadowed by its neighbour - Rioja - this region actually has amazing potential for high quality wine. So he did his homework and found the best plots, and offered to pay growers more for producing top end grapes. This upset other producers in the region who were offering much less for the grapes, but Borja wanted to give credit where credit was due: a fair price for something truly special. This wine is the result of his quest - the perfect grapes crafted into wine by Borja's talented hands. He pushed a glass of this under our noses and we were suitably impressed. An oak aged Spanish gem that we agreed to list straight away!
