Time. This is what sets this Rioja apart from others: the time taken to create something truly exceptional. After hand-picking the grapes from the oldest vineyards, an unhurried fermentation was allowed to take place. The best vats were then put into barrel and aged for 6 years. During this time, Julio carried out new selections to earmark only the best barrels to go into this wine so, by the end, there were only 199 barrels in the final blend. These were bottled in March 2012 and since then the wine has continued to develop and evolve. This is classic Rioja in style, but infinitely better! The bouquet stands out - big, complex and round - with an elegant, long finish.
