The coastal vineyards of the Itata Valley, located in the southern part of Chile, are thought to be the cradle of the country's viticultural beginnings with vines dating back to 1551. The Cinsault grapes that make this wine are from the 35-year-old Guarilihue vineyard, just 22km from the Pacific Ocean. These vines are ungrafted and farmed using sustainable agriculture, including dry farming (which means no irrigation is used) and ploughing with horses. Nicolas Perez and Marco Antonio de Martino believe that these vines offer a true expression of this unique place.
