Owned by Lafite Rothschild, Chateau lÉvangile lays on the famous blue clay plateau in Pomerol. Immediately next door to Chateau Petrus and separated from Cheval Blanc by only a secondary road. Blason de lÉvangile 2016 has a clear, deep colour with glints of violet. The nose is powerful and intense with fresh notes of raspberry and blackcurrant. On the palate, the attack is clean and direct with a balanced, refined tannic structure. The mid-palate is full-bodied and silky with beautifully ripe tannins. A fresh and fruity wine with a long, elegant finish, the Bordeaux pairs perfectly with all game – from a juicy marbled steak to rich lamb dishes – or with hard cheeses after dinner. 13.5% ABV
