Dispatched to Spain in 1990, to the then obscure area, Ribera del Duero, Peter Sisseck began work on a short-term project which, subsequently, enjoyed much praise – Hacienda Monasterio. Although relatively unknown as a region, Ribera del Duero has a long viticulture history and Peter believed that it had the potential to produce Spains finest wines. He sought out parcels of ancient vines, on perfectly exposed terroir, which he instinctively knew would produce something exciting, if in small quantities. The stage was set for the arrival of Pingus – a trailblazer which had the world at its feet from the outset. Flor de Pingus is produced in extremely small quantities from ancient Tempranillo vines and crafted from meticulously cared for grapes. Fermented under temperature controlled conditions to retain a fruity dark cherry profile – the resulting wine is matured 14 months in barrique. Full-bodied, bold and effusive in its vanilla and cedar spice, it has earned its name as one of the iconic wines of Spain, with the Danish winemaker pushing the region's famous varietal to its limits.13.5% ABV
