Five Roses , the now famous Rose wine made by Leone de Castris was first produced in 1943 and was the first Rosato wine to be bottled in Italy. Its name comes from the Contrada (or neighbourhood) belonging to the family, so called, because for several generations each de Castris had 5 children. Deep strawberry pink in colour. Five Roses is bursting with aromas of ripe cherries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and redcurrants. These delightful notes continue on the palate, complimented by fresh, crisp acidity, good structure and smooth texture.
