However, thanks to our direct relationship with the producer, we’ve skipped right to the front of the queue and got ‘First Refusal’ on this exceptional parcel of top-class Swartland rarity. The Durif is intensely flavoured and deeply fruited, which we need to temper a little with a splash of high-class Shiraz that adds a little signature fresh blackcurrant and peppery spice to the mix. Rich and rounded, the finish is long and sumptuous.
