Grosses Gewächs is the term used for a producer's best dry wine from a classified Grosse Lage vineyard (Germany's equivalent to a "Grand Cru"). So in other words, it's the best wine from the best vineyard. The Försterlay vineyard, with its 60 year old vines, weathered slate soil and steep sloped inclination above the Mosel River makes the production of this fine, expressive and concentrated wine possible.
