From the 2016 vintage, the Meursault "Saint-Christophe" Domaine de Montille, blends three climats "Les Casse-Têtes", "Les Petits Charrons" and "Les Narvaux du Dessous", three terroirs each recognized for their exceptional quality and remarkably located in the middle of the hillside of Meursault also called "Montagne Saint-Christophe".
The result is a balanced wine, with a beautiful complementarity, the generous character of the "Petits Charrons", the minerality of "Casse-Tetes" and the complexity and elegance of "Narvaux du Dessous".
De Montille wines are known for their great aromatic purity. They always favor balance and elegance over power and extraction. The wines are classic expressions of Burgundy, of their appellations in general and of their specific terroirs in particular. The farming methods used contribute to this individual style, and the winemaking methods aim to avoid excessive outside influences in order to bring out the equilibrium that can be found naturally in Burgundian terroir.
Nicely layered aromas include notes of hazelnut, essence of pear and hints of spice and acacia. There is good energy to the rich medium-bodied flavors that are naturally sweet despite the markedly lemony finish.
