Known for taking a humble approach to making whisky, the flavour in this Glenrothes is far from quiet! This is a terrific Glenrothes 12 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish single malt whisky, bottled as part of the Darkness range. During a 12 year maturation process, this spent six months in specially-coopered Oloroso sherry octave casks. The combination of the powerfully flavoured sherry, as well as the cask itself being very small and allowing greater flavour uptake, gives this one a great deal of sherried notes to sink your teeth (or tastebuds, more aptly!) into. Like all Darkness drams, this is free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.
