An excellent all round drinking wine for any occasion. I first came across this wine many years ago, following a recommendation in the Times newspaper. Copes well cold or warm, (I prefer it to be at room temperature) with very little tannin or bitterness. Lasts well over a few days after opening, with no loss of flavour. Excellent value for your money at around £5.00 or so. Unfortunately of course, it will not be any good for the pretend wine connoisseurs, who believe a good wine must be an expensive one with an impressive looking label on the bottle, (oh and a cork!!) Enjoy you wont regret.

The wine is quite shy when you smell it – just a touch of red fruit – but when you taste it you get a burst of raspberries and cherries. This red fruit then combines with the taste of ‘slate’ (think of something like gravel or stones) and a hint of dark spiced chocolate. This is a seriously polished wine – the kind of quality that you’d expect in wines twice its price… and never expect to find in a bottle for just over £4.50
