The historic Château Climens was first mentioned in a contract in 1547 and, surprisingly, in its long history the estate has been owned by only five families – all of whom have contributed to its highly regarded reputation. The Château is currently owned by the Lurton family and boasts 30 hectares of vineyards in the Barsac commune of sauternes where the red soil is covered with pebbles and offers good drainage.
