92 Points - Jane Anson. Bordeaux's Saint Estephe is littered with undiscovered gems, and the Chateau Segur de Cabanac is one of our favourites. Being heavy on Cabernet Sauvignon, it enjoyed a hugely successful 2016, producing a 92-point wine according to leading critic Jane Anson. Rich and spicy with a lovely depth of flavour, bottle age has brought harmony and finesse to this cracking wine.

Wine Press Ratings
92 Points - Jane Anson (2016 Vintage)
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast (2016 Vintage)
"With its dominance of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is richly textured and dense. Black-currant fruits are still very present although mitigated by the softening of wood aging and time in bottle."
90 Points / Silver Medal - Decanter World Wine Awards (2016 Vintage)
"Earthy leather and cedar wood tones alongside more overt, dark and spicy fruits. Concentrated and long, with youth on its side."
About the Producer
Château Ségur de Cabanac, a reliably classic Médoc cru bourgeois, offers commendable Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blends from Saint-Estèphe. Expect structure and graphite notes alongside dark fruit, capable of aging gracefully for mid-term cellaring. While not aiming for the flamboyant, it consistently delivers typicity and value within the appellation. A solid, dependable choice for claret lovers.
