Despite Bordeaux's unrivalled fame for red wine, the soils of some sites in Pessac-Leognan effortlessly contribute to the quality of some very fine white wines. Sauvignon Blanc is the most dominant here as it loves the gravel soils with a limestone base, but Semillon also flourishes. In Château de Belloc Pessac-Leognan the Sauvignon brings structure, freshness and fruitiness, whilst the Semillion offers body and unique aromas of candied lemon.
