Château Batailley is said to be named after a battle fought on the site between the French and the English in 1453, and has long had a reputation as one of the most dependable names in Pauillac. From 2012, this Pauillac Bordeaux opens with a great depth of cassis fruit on the nose while introducing fine grained tannins. On the palate is a complex journey of dark fruits, leather, bitter chocolate and game, warmed with hints of oak.
