This is great quality Montepulciano, exactly as it should be - bright and aromatic red fruit, not too heavy on the palate, refreshing acidity perfect to match with tomato-based foods - made, as you might expect, for Italian food. That lightness and freshness can take a little chill too, if the weather is warm. Do try this wine with food. Pizza, pasta in all manner of tomato sauce (not ketchup!), herby sausages will also work. You'll soon see why Italians don't have a meal without some wine on the table.
