The Tamblyn blend utilises the characteristics of the different varietals to give a wine that is full flavoured and balanced. Cabernet Sauvignon provides the complementary tannin structure, Shiraz and Merlot give berry roundness, and Malbec adds a perfumed lift and intense colour. 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Shiraz, 7.5% Malbec, 6.5% Merlot The components for Tamblyn were individually fermented in open top fermenters which allowed for optimal extraction of colour and flavour. The wine was matured in a combination of new and old French and American barrels for 18months before blending and bottling.
