Tasting note A very modern style of Rioja, the 2005 Orben bears a ripe nose with notes of chocolate and sweet blackcurrant. Carefully composed and particularly well-balanced, the wine has a good backbone of acidity, layered with some savoury tones, completed by a lengthy finish. Food pairing note This rich fruity wine will go well with steak, or lamb chops. Country: Spain Region: Rioja Grape variety: Tempranillo, Graciano Vintage: 2005 Bottle size: 75cl Closure: Cork
Under the auspice of Bodegas Izadi, this new estate is the collaboration of 74 of the best micro-plots of Tempranillo, located near the village of Laguardia, in the Rioja Alavesa. Wines are crafted from low yielding 50- to 60-year-old vines, with only a limited quantity of bottles produced each vintage. Aged for 12 months in barrel, the Orben wines are a contemporary mix of age-old traditions and vines. Regrettably, this product is non-exportable.
