This multifaceted expression has been expertly created by MasterBlender, Dr. Rachel Barrie. Rachel has worked to build layers of flavour into this expression through the marriage of oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, all of which have been matured for a minimum of X-X year.
This year the expression has won gold at two of the industrys most prestigious awards competitions - World Whisky Awards and San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The malted barley used to make BenRiach Peated Cask Strength has been smoked with inland Highland peat to a level of 45 ppm, enriching the whisky with notes of smoked applewood. This type of peat has a noticeable difference to Islay peat, which naturally has a more coastal character due to the location it is sourced.
