In vineyards that are high above the valley floor, on the Piekenierskloof escarpment, are blocks of Chenin Blanc that Ryno's predecessor planted back in 1962 and Palomino from 1977. This is what makes this wine so special - concentrated old vine fruit blended with expressive younger Grenache Blanc. The grapes are harvested in the early hours of the morning and then a further selection is made by hand at the winery to select the best fruit. The wine is then naturally fermented in old wooden barrels and steel and, finally, coarse filtered to retain as much of the natural flavour as possible then bottled, ready for you to enjoy.
