Akitu was established in 2001 in the heart of Central Otago’s Upper Clutha basin. Their 12 hectare vineyard sits alone at 380m above sea level on a stunning north facing slope just minutes from Lake Wanaka. Akitu experiences a semi-continental climate with high sunshine hours, long summers and temperate autumns, all of which contributes to creating wines of amazing fruit purity and complexity.
This bottling is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir and with minimal intervention in the winemaking process, this wine allows the vineyard to shine as the true hero. A captivating blend of ruby grapefruit, gentle stone fruit, and mineral notes, leading to a silky yet textured palate of powerful stone fruit, spicy apple, hints of anise, and a plush core of Rainer cherries, creating an elegantly pure and unforgettable wine reminiscent of a breathtaking sunset. Pair it with a range of delectable dishes, from fresh prawns to indulgent Wagyu beef, let this wine bring your culinary experience to life.
