The wine itself hails from prized 100+ year old Shiraz vines from Steve's site in McLaren Vale. It is a blend of 4 different vintages, all small volume and hand-made, with the best French oak barrels used to age the wine. The result is a pronounced red that still has so much more to unlock aromatically over the coming years. The bramble, black cherry, blueberry, plum and olive flavours - all a fresh version of themselves thanks to the 2018 juice - rolls and rolls, building as they go. There is also a wonderful savoury element of tar, rich dark chocolate and oaky spice too, which follows long into the finish.
