Wines of this quality and individuality are a rare thing. Except in Steve Grimley's McLaren Vale shed, where it is all he produces! This wine has the cut of dark-fruited Tempranillo but you can sense the lovely lighter reds fruits of the Nero d'Avola and Grenache, with the depth of the Durif in the back. Smoky, charred red fruits lunge out on first impressions with toasty oak and fresh herbs at the back. The wine opens wonderfully offering layers of flowers, coca-cola and spice.
