The final release from the highly collectable Highland Park Magnus series. This 3rd bottling from the series, released in July 2011, marks Earl Haakon, a deceitful and villainous murderer, whom incidentally ordered the death of Magnus in callous circumstances. The first two bottlings in the Magnus series celebrated the influential 11th century Earl who was canonized only 20 years after his untimely death. He was murdered by Haakon, his treacherous cousin, who inspired this third and final release. Whereas Saint Magnus was a warrior and scholar, described in Orkneyinga saga as ''a man of strict virtue, successful in war, wise, eloquent, generous and magnanimous,'' his cousin was far closer to the warmongering and violent Viking of Legend. 3,300 bottles were produced.
