The color is ruby red, with garnet highlights, while its intense, clear-cut nose hints at withered roses, violet, tobacco, underbrush, spicies and a little bit of vanilla. On the palate, at the beginning tannins are dense, soft and almost velvety and then explode in a sensation of well-balanced fruit and acid freshness. The aftertaste is very long-lasting and rich in flavor.
Ideal with big red meat dishes and medium or mature cheeses, it can also make for pleasant after-dinner company.
