From vineyards in the very heart of the Soave Classico appellation, the steep hills and the meagre basalt soils are carpeted with Garganega, the grape variety used to make this wine. The nose is reminiscent of field flowers such as camomile, elderflower and iris which mingle seamlessly with vanilla notes. Large and round on the palate with a finish of sweet almond, Garganega's unmistakable minerality provides the backbone whilst the acidity provides focus and longevity. After a few years the initial floral notes turn to honey and stone fruit; the wine packs on mid-palate weight and becomes increasingly versatile with food.
