Tasting note This single vineyard, 100% Syrah wine is made from 70 year old vines grown on their own rootstock, a rare find in a country once plagued by the spread of the soil mite, phylloxera. Very low yielding, one vine typically produces one small glass of wine. Translated as ‘She-Wolf ’, La Louvée lives up to its name. A powerful Cornas wine with great balance, depth, weight and elegance. Typically it will age for up to 20 years or more. Jean-Luc Colombo is a relatively young company by French wine standards. With family origins in Marseille, Jean-Luc moved in 1982, with his wife Anne, to Cornas in the heart of the Rhône Valley, to set up a pharmacy and oenology lab.
