Tasting note This single-vineyard wine was inspired by Benjamin’s father Andres. Powerful aromas of cassis and leather with slight herbal characters following the dark fruit. The palate is dry with fine yet persistent tannins, still quite closed but showing great potential. Food pairing note Delicious with game or roast lamb. Country: Spain Region: Rioja Grape variety: Tempranillo Vintage: 2006 Closure: Cork
In 2002, after 15 years as winemaker at Artadi, Benjamin Romeo started making his own wine. He began by making his wines in a garage, and buying parcels of old, low-yielding, bush-trained vines. He now makes his wine from a state-of-the-art, gravity fed, three-floor winery near the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Rioja. Regrettably, this product is non-exportable.
