St Veran Wines

One of the most southern appellations of the Maconnais, lying close to the Beaujolais border. These wines can produce some of the best value whites in Burgundy, once again, if carefully selected.

This area was only given its own appellation in 1971; until then it mopped up much of what was Beaujolais Blanc. The quality of wine is sound, with the majority of producers striving to improve and focus on quality wines. In general the wines are unoaked, with fresh, creamy, orchard fruit flavours, and with the right producer, the wines offer some of the best value in the region.
